While Moses was on the mountain forty days and nights with God, the people did not know what happened to him and decided to make a god for themselves from gold. God said they were obstinate.
God told Moses that he and the people were to start traveling to the land He promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their descendants but that His Presence was not going to travel with them.
Thoughts
I think Moses was desperate that God’s Presence would not leave them. Similar to earlier verses, I think glory means God’s actual presence. Does God show His actual presence to us today?
