Glory – Honour
“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O LORD, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.”
-David (1 Chronicles 29:11)
Context
God told David that his son Solomon would be the king who would build His house and His courts. David gathered all the leaders and people and told them this news. David explained that while he had already financially provided for the building of God’s House, he was also giving of his own treasure of gold and silver. Everyone followed his example and they rejoiced together at their giving with their whole heart to God! This is the first verse in a prayer to GOD after this unified giving.
Thoughts
Glory is one of the attributes David calls out in the first sentence of prayer after everyone gave with their whole hearts and rejoiced. David is addressing the LORD with great reverence and awe I think too at their generous giving!
Have you ever been prompted to give something and then could hardly contain your joy because it was the LORD prompting you to give?
