Glory – Honour

“Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples,
Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come before Him;
Worship the LORD in holy array.”

-David (1 Chronicles 16:28-29)

Context

These two verses continue the instruction David gives beginning in v.15 to remember God’s covenant forever. Next he reminds them to ascribe, or give the LORD glory, strength and the glory due His name.

Thoughts

 I think that David is making a point with the repeated use of the word ‘ascribe’ or give, that glory, or honour, belongs to the LORD. I like the simple and direct instruction about expressing that glory;

 a) bring and offering

b) come before Him, and

c) worship the LORD in holy array.

Do you express glory or honour to the LORD? If so, what does that look like for you?
