Glory of the LORD – Consuming Fire

“And to the eyes of the sons of Israel the appearance of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the mountain top”.

-Moses (Exodus 24:17)

 

Context

Then next verse says, “Moses entered the midst of the cloud as he went up to the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forth nights”.

 

Thoughts

I wonder if the cloud changed in appearance to ‘like a consuming fire’ once God started talking to Moses on day 7. What emotion do you think the people were feeling when they saw this?
